How to Make a T1 Cross Over Cable

Making a T1 (T-1) Cross Over Cable is required in order to connect a PBX to another PBX, fax server or other CPE device.  The information below demonstrates how to make a T1 Cross Over Cable.

To make a T1 crossover cable you will need an RJ45 crimping tool and at least one RJ45 end.

   

Although shielded T1 cable is the ideal, you will find that using a Category 5  (CAT5) patch cable will work just fine with out any issues.

 

 The data pins are 1, 2, 4, and 5.   The third pin is ground which is frequently unused.

Pins 6,7 & 8 are unused.
